AI Master's Student & Mathematician — AIMS Senegal

I'm Jérémie Mabiala. I studied mathematics and somewhere along the way got curious about what machines can learn.

I'm an MSc student in the African Master in Machine Intelligence (AMMI) program at AIMS Senegal. Before that, I did a Master's in Mathematical Sciences at Stellenbosch University & AIMS South Africa. Still learning — ML theory, NLP, computer vision, LLMs, and optimization interest me most, but I'm open to almost anything AI & math-related.

Before this, I ran practical sessions at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Kinshasa. I now help run Python, PyTorch, and Machine Learning bootcamps at AIMS Senegal — teaching remains one of the best ways I know to actually understand something.

Outside of that, I freelance in software development ...

Je suis Jérémie Mabiala. J'ai étudié les mathématiques et, chemin faisant, je me suis pris de curiosité pour les Machine Learning. C'est cette curiosité qui me guide encore aujourd'hui.

Mon parcours est passé par un Master en Sciences Mathématiques, entre l' Université de Stellenbosch et l'AIMS Afrique du Sud, avant de rejoindre le programme AMMI à l' AIMS Sénégal, où je poursuis aujourd'hui un Master en Intelligence Artificielle. Ce qui retient le plus mon attention : la théorie du ML, le TAL, la vision par ordinateur, les LLMs et l'optimisation — mais je reste curieux de tout ce qui touche à l'IA et aux mathématiques.

Avant l'AIMS, j'animais les travaux pratiques au département de Mathématiques et Informatique à l'Université de Kinshasa. Aujourd'hui, j'anime des bootcamps Python, PyTorch et Machine Learning à l'AIMS Sénégal. Pour moi, enseigner reste la meilleure façon d'apprendre soi-même.

Le reste du temps, je fais fu freelance en développement logiciel et web...n'hesitez pas à me contacter au besoin.
