Resident tutor fellowship at AIMS Senegal
I was awarded a fully funded AMMI resident tutor fellowship to teach in the Machine Learning stream at the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) for the Machine Learning Master’sprogram (AMMI).
As part of the fellowship, I run bootcamps in Python, PyTorch, Linear Algebra, and Introduction to Machine Learning, and support graduate students with coursework. The cohort is around 15 students from Nigeria, Chad, Senegal, Cameroon, Kenya, Ethiopia, Comoros, Burkina Faso, and a few other countries. It has been a good opportunity to consolidate what I know by teaching it, and to learn from students from various background.
